Texas Book Journal is a division of Wild Horse Media Group. Our goal is to educate, inform and promote books about Texas, published in Texas or written by a Texan. We also want to promote Texas authors, booksellers, events, organizations, publishers and the book industry in general.
We want to be a source of information for people who want to be authors, publishers and booksellers. The publishing landscape has drastically changed in recent years with the advent of eBooks, the Internet, print-on-demand and much more. The great thing today is that anyone can publish a book, and the bad is also that anyone can publish a book. There are hundreds of thousands of new books being published every year and the number is growing drastically. It is estimated the current number of new books published in the United States each year is in excess of 300,000 and Amazon lists more than 13 million titles.
We want to help the author and publisher to break out of that log jam of books and better reach their potential market. We can help do this by narrowing the focus to Texas. But, we want to do much more than promote Texas authors, books, booksellers and publishers. We also want to promote those within the industry such as editors, graphic artists, indexers, printers and more.
Texas Book Journal will be a work in progress as we develop the site and our business model. In addition to the website, we will also be generating email newsletters on a regular basis and sending our breaking news to readers who join our email list. We promise we will not share your e-mail address with any other entity, nor will we flood your email box with junk. So, join us for this journey and see how it develops and where it leads us.
