Carthage Book Club Hold Meeting
Carthage Book Club met for a winter brunch at El Rancho Grande on Jan. 9, 2015. Hostesses Nancy Mills and Becky Jones greeted members and ushered them to festively decorated tables adorned with pine cones, fir sprigs, and Texas flags. Everyone enjoyed mimosas and a delicious array of Mexican style treats-- tortilla soup, breakfast tacos, spinach enchiladas, pork tamales and guacamole salad followed by pralines and coffee.

in Liberty reopens following renovations
The Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center has reopened following a series of renovations made to address critical safety and security issues at the historical resource depository in Liberty, Texas. Repairs and upgrades were made possible in part by funds awarded from a $1 million appropriation by the 83rd Texas Legislature to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC).
